The shop has passed electrical inspection - yippee! Who could ever have had a doubt with my most capable of all contractors, Scott Bludworth www.bludworthhomes.com at the helm, and his ever faithful electricians, the "Sparkies," Garret and Kyle (sure hope I spelled their names correctly).

This week: painting the ceiling, walls and some fixtures, then comes the flooring.

Things are happening pretty quickly. Bye-bye black ceiling! The painters have done their magic and brightened up the joint. The floor and most of the carpeting is in place.

Joe, Mr. Serial Knitter - so to speak, and I went down to IKEA on Tuesday evening with a UHaul to pick up our shelving. If it hadn't been for a very nice young man, Eric, we would probably still be there trying to load 2500 lbs worth of shelving into that truck. Thanks Eric!

Scott and his charming assistant, Frank, have been working all day putting together those 2500 lbs worth of shelves. They still have a few to go.

Yes, We went to the shop on the 4th of July. I'd be out waiting for fireworks if it weren't so cold and drizzley.

Our inventory should be starting to pour in this coming week. I received notice of 8 shipments (YIKES!)

Can't wait to see the beautiful yarns.

The front counter is sooooo close to being done. Check it out...

That's Scott. He's the guy responsible for deciphering my crazy design ideas and making them all come to life. He's so awesome!

And, no, the store doesn't have a cardboard and blue striped floor. That's just so the paint and stuff doesn't get onto my nice floor underneath the cardboard and painter's tape. Geez!

August 6, 2010 WE'RE OPEN!!!!

Thanks to everyone for helping to make our Grand Opening weekend a huge sucess.

This will be our TV and kid area. We'll have toys and we'll be able to pop in a kid video so Moms and Dads can shop while kiddos are occupied.

We're also planning movie nights, who knows, Sci Fi night, Dancing with the Stars...

Check out the Brazillian granite counter top. Scott (that superior contractor of mine) managed to hook me up with this beautiful inspiration for the shop's color scheme. He is so resourceful!

Except for a few, tiny loose ends, the construction is over! Yay! Except that I am a little sad to not see Scotts bright and cheery big red truck parked in the lot when I come in every morning. So, glad I picked him - construction could have been a nightmare otherwise.

Can't wait for you all to come and see what a great job he did!!!
